Locusts small/medium

Migratory locusts (Locusta migratoria) are among the most popular feeder insects in terraristics. They impress with their high nutritional value, their lively activity, and their ability to stimulate reptiles' natural hunting behavior. Their versatile use as live food makes them an excellent choice for varied feeding of a wide range of reptile species.

·         High protein content: Migratory locusts provide valuable proteins that are essential for the growth and health of reptiles.

·        Natural movement: Their lively behavior challenges the hunting and predatory instincts of reptiles, providing species-appropriate enrichment.

·         Wide applicability: They are suitable for many reptile species, such as agamas, chameleons, geckos, and skinks.

·         Easy care: Migratory locusts are easy to keep and can be fed fresh grasses, vegetables, or special insect food.

It is recommended to "gut-load" the locusts with nutrient-rich food (e.g., carrots, lettuce, special insect food) before feeding them to optimize nutrient absorption for the reptile.

·         Uneaten locusts should be removed from the terrarium after no more than 30 minutes to avoid stress to the reptile.
