Exo Terra Rain Forest Substrate is a 100% natural, biodegradable terrarium substrate made from a blend of sustainable maritime pine & sphagnum moss. Exo Terra Rain Forest Substrate is the ideal decorative substrate in natural planted terrariums for humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from tropical forests. The Rain Forest Substrate naturally regulates humidity in the terrarium: It absorbs and then slowly releases moisture. Its hygroscopic properties are maximized by the addition of natural sphagnum moss to the mixture. Appropriate humidity levels support shedding and help prevent respiratory infections. The unique size and shape of the bark particles, combined with natural sphagnum moss, allow for frequent plant watering and ensure good aeration in the substrate for healthy root growth. Exo Terra Rain Forest is heat-treated to prevent bacterial contamination.
