Argentine wood cockroaches (Blaptica dubia), also known as Dubia roaches, are among the most popular feeder insects in reptile keeping. They are not only rich in valuable nutrients but also extremely easy to care for and low-odor – ideal conditions for a species-appropriate and varied diet for terrarium animals.
· Dubia roaches offer an optimal mix of proteins, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. This promotes the growth, vitality, and well-being of reptiles.
· Low odor development: Compared to other feeder insects, they are almost odorless, thus ensuring a pleasant climate in the terrarium.
· Cannot climb smooth surfaces: They cannot climb smooth surfaces, which simplifies handling and feeding.
· Longevity and low escape tendency: Unlike crickets or locusts, they are slower, which makes catching them easier for reptiles and reduces stress.
· Suitable for numerous reptile species: Particularly popular with bearded dragons, geckos, chameleons, skinks, and many others. For mineral supply, dusting with calcium or vitamin supplements before feeding is recommended.
· Excess or uneaten roaches should be removed from the terrarium to prevent overpopulation.
